Assault charge laid

Barrie police say a man has been arrested and charged after an alleged assault at a Bayview Drive business.

The police say officers responded to a call on Monday night just after 7 p.m.

The incident reportedly involved a staff member and a drunk customer, and took place outside the business. The staff member “did not sustain any serious injuries and did not require any medical treatment,” according to police, who said other staff members explained to officers what took place.

A 55-year-old Barrie was arrested and charged with assault, is scheduled to appear in court on July 23.
