Update to Shooting Related Arrested on Bank Street
In a follow-up to a story from last week, the OPS has arrested a 33-year-old Ottawa man in relation to a shooting that occurred in the 1600 block of Bank Street on September 12, 2026. Amin Osman-Ali was arrested this morning and charged with several firearms-related offences and aggravated assault. He appeared in court on the morning of September 17. The victim of the shooting remains in critical condition in hospital. Anyone with information is asked to call the Guns and Gangs Unit.
Two Vehicle Collision on Hunt Club Road
On September 20, at approximately 2:40 P.M., officers responded to a collision involving a vehicle and a motorcycle on Hunt Club Road at Cahill Drive, which resulted in serious injuries. One person was transported to the hospital. A man in his 20s remains in critical condition. Investigators would like to speak with anyone who witnessed the collision or may have dashcam footage of this incident and have not yet spoken to police. Anyone with information is asked to contact the OPS Fatal Collision Investigation Unit.
Police Seeking Public in Locating Missing 69-Year-Old Man
The OPS is seeking the public’s assistance in locating a missing 69-year-old man. Mesbahuddin Ahamed left his home near Inness and Tenth Line Rd on Sunday morning. His family contacted police yesterday evening with concerns for his health and safety. He is described as approximately 5’3” tall, medium build, short white hair, white beard, and wears glasses. He may be wearing a grey jacket. Anyone with information about Mesbahuddin’s whereabouts or who has seen him is asked to contact the Ottawa Police Missing Persons Unit.
