The skid is over.

The Barrie Colts fended off a furious comeback to down the Kitchener Rangers 4-3 in overtime on Saturday, snapping a six-game losing streak and climbing back into the final playoff spot in the Eastern Conference.

Cole Beaudoin clinched the victory less than 30 seconds into the overtime period with his sixth goal of the young 2025-26 OHL season.

It was Barrie’s first win on home ice since Sept. 20, which was also opening night.

Kashawn Aitcheson (7th goal of the season) and Eamon Edgar (2nd) put Barrie up 3-1 in the second period but the Rangers stormed back to even the score before the end of the frame.

Neither side could find the back of the net in the third.

Brad Gardiner (9th) opened the scoring for the Colts in the first after the Rangers darted out to a quick 1-0 lead.

In their other weekend game, Barrie fell 5-3 on the road to the Sudbury on Friday.

Next up for Barrie is a mid-week road game against Brantford. The Colts return home on Thursday to take on the Sarnia Sting.
