Colts extend winning streak to four games after perfect week of play

Date:

Don’t look now but the Barrie Colts are one of the hottest teams in the OHL.

After a rough opening to the season that saw them sink to 9th in the Eastern Conference, the Colts have won their last four games, including a perfect 3-0 stint over the past week.

On Wednesday, the Colts took down the top team in the East, beating the Brantford Bulldogs 5-4 in overtime. They followed that up the next night at home with a 4-3 overtime win over the Sarnia Sting.

Then on Saturday, Barrie closed out the week by beating the Erie Otters 4-2.

With the string of victories, Barrie has catapulted up to 4th place in the ultra-competitive Eastern Conference and second in their division, four-points behind the Niagara Ice Dogs.

The Colts will look to continue their winning ways when they host the Sudbury Wolves on Thursday. They’ll then hit the road on Friday for the closer of the home-and-home series against the Wolves.

Barrie will close out the weekend up north against the Sault Ste. Marie Greyhounds on Saturday.
