Colts look to put IceDogs in a stranglehold

Date:

The Barrie Colts’ OHL playoff run had a perfect start last week before encountering choppy waters in Niagara.

But the team could still be in a position to wrap up its Eastern Conference first round series this weekend.

At home, the second seed Colts dispatched the seven-seed Niagara IceDogs 4 to 2 in Game One last Thursday, before breaking out the offensive to win Game Two 7 to 5 on Monday.

The series moved to St. Catharines on Tuesday, where the IceDogs were able to fend off the Colts for a 6 to 4 win. It was the team’s first playoff win since 2019.

The series resumes tonight in Niagara for a pivotal Game Four. If the Colts win, they would be in a position to win the series when it returns to Barrie on Saturday night. But if the IceDogs pull off the W, the series will be all knotted up at two.
