Local resident decides ‘it was time’ to be his own boss

Date:

Barrie resident Eric Eastman kicked off 2025 with a major milestone by launching his first
business, Eastman Car Audio & Accessories.

The grand opening, held on Jan. 7, 2025, introduced the city to a range of vehicle installation services, including remote starters, dash cameras, and audio systems.

“It was time to be my own boss,” Eastman said. “I’ve been working in this field professionally for more than 20 years with other companies in Barrie, so I decided it was time to open my own shop and provide residents with premium services.”

The event was attended by Eastman’s family, close friends, and notable community figures,
including Barrie Mayor Alex Nuttall, Barrie–Innisfil MPP Andrea Khanjin, Sarah Taylor from
Barrie–Innisfil MP John Brassard’s constituency office, Barrie Councillor Sergio Morales and Paul Markle, CEO of the Barrie Chamber of Commerce.

Nuttall acknowledged the challenges and rewards of entrepreneurship, particularly in a growing city like Barrie.

“We love seeing new businesses opening up in Barrie,” Nuttall said. “Working for yourself comes with both some great things and some challenges, but those experiences help
build success.”

Eastman also recognized that success takes time and will grow alongside his business.

However, he is not only focused on achieving professional goals but is also committed to giving back to his community.

“I want to establish my brand and the services being offered,” he said. “I also want to give back to my community. I’m a Barrie guy, my wife and I are raising our sons here and I appreciate having a new business here, so I want to have my community’s back.”

Eastman Car Audio & Accessories is located at 576 Bryne Drive, Unit A in Barrie.
