Barrie Sports Need to Knows

Barrie Colts (hockey):

After four days off, the Barrie Colts are back in action against the Owen Sound Attack on Thursday night, when they’ll try to make it two in a row at home. The Colts will then travel northeast for a matinee matchup against the Ottawa 67s on Sunday afternoon.

The Colts have started the season 4-3 and currently sit sixth in the eastern conference.

Georgian College (collegiate):

The Georgian men’s basketball team opens their season on Friday, when they’ll host George Brown college. After going 4-1 in exhibition games, the Grizzlies will look to translate their pre-season form into regular season results. 

The women’s b-ball season doesn’t get underway until later this month. 

Speaking of first games, the women’s volleyball team will travel to Toronto to take on George Brown in the squad’s first regular season. The men’s team is already 1-0, having dispatched of Sheridan College in their first game last week.
