Cart deliveries underway for Wednesday (A&B) collection area
Garbage and organics carts are being delivered to the driveways of residential properties this summer. You don’t need to sign for them, and you don’t need to be home when they are delivered.
Your estimated delivery window is based on your curbside collection area. Deliveries to the
Monday (A & B) and Tuesday (A & B) collection areas have been completed ahead of schedule. As of July 9, crews have started delivering to properties in the Wednesday (A & B) collection area. Your carts may arrive any weekday within your delivery window.
Once your carts arrive, don’t use them yet! Remove them from the curb and store them until collection begins the week of September 8.

Annual water-main maintenance program underway
The City of Barrie’s annual water-main swabbing program is currently underway in select areas
of Ward 6, 8 and 10 throughout July. This work helps to properly maintain the water system by
cleaning water-mains.
Notices are being hand-delivered in advance to impacted properties. If you receive a notice, it is advised that no water be used during the times specified. To prevent any water use in the home, residents can turn their home water meter off.
For more information and to view the list of areas being swabbed, visit barrie.ca/WaterDistribution.

Enjoy Barrie’s waterfront, parks, and downtown events this summer
Residents are invited to enjoy the City of Barrie’s waterfront, parks, and downtown this summer. Lifeguards are on duty daily at Centennial Beach and Johnson’s Beach from 11:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Beaches are smoke and vape free, and dogs are not permitted on City beaches.
Visit barrie.ca/parks for a list of amenities. Note that some forested trails are closed due to ice storm damage, but waterfront and open-space park trails are open.
A digital waterfront parking permit is required at specific areas between June 15 and
September 15.
There are also various downtown events taking place this summer, including Troubadour Festival, Open Air Dunlop, and Lawn Chair Luminata.
Reminder: No tents or sunshades at the beach
Tents or sunshades are not permitted at waterfront beaches or parks unless they are
supported by no more than one pole and have no more than one wall or side. This helps keep sightlines clear and beaches safe for everyone.
For more details, visit barrie.ca/beaches.
Resident digital waterfront parking permits extended!
All current and future digital waterfront permits are now valid until December 31, 2026. The extension has been automatically applied to all active resident permit holders.
