Christmas tree collection

Christmas trees are collected weekly on your regular curbside collection day. Beginning the
week of January 6 and ending the week of the 31, in 2025.

Please ensure trees:

  • Are placed curbside by 7 a.m.
  • Are free of plastic wrap/bags, decorations, and stands
  • Are visible at the end of the driveway
  • Are not placed on top of snowbanks
  • Are accessible to the collector and any fallen snow is cleared
  • Do not exceed 1.8 meters of 6 feet in length

Barrie residents can also drop off Christmas trees at the Landfill for free (must be within yard waste limits and free of ornaments, bags and stands.)

For more information, please visit barrie.ca/CurbsideCollection.

Parking Reminders

Overnight On-Street Parking Restrictions:
The City’s Overnight Parking By-law is in effect from December 1 to March 31.
On-street parking is not permitted from 3 a.m.–6 a.m. within the Downtown Business
Improvement Area and from 12:01 a.m. –7 a.m. on all other City streets.

Residents are reminded that there are possible exceptions to the overnight parking bylaw on December 25, 26, and January 1 from 12:01 a.m. to 7 a.m. unless the city declares a Winter Maintenance Event by 4 p.m. on the previous day.

These restrictions allow snow-clearing crews to keep streets safe and ensure that large
emergency vehicles have access throughout the City.

For more information, visit barrie.ca/OvernightParking.
