A new initiative aimed at improving public safety and enhancing nightlife is coming to the ByWard Market as the office of the nightlife commissioner continues to seek ways to bolster the downtown district.
The Planning and Housing Committee has approved a zoning amendment to clear the way for continued development of properties in Orleans and Barrhaven that promise to bring nearly 1,000 housing units.
