A RIDE spot-check in the Clapperton and Collier Streets area in Sunday found six driving infractions, Barrie Police said in a news release.

Suspects charged in afternoon break and enter

Barrie Police have charged suspects involved in an afternoon break and enter on Sunday afternoon at an apartment complex on Edgehill Drive.

Police responded to reports of an in-progress break and enter around 4:17 p.m., police said in a news release, and located four suspects in the lobby.

Two men and two women were immediately taken into custody and have been jointly charged with theft. After further investigation, the incident was deemed not to be a break and enter but that items from the involved apartment were stolen.

Three of the suspects were released with conditions and one, a 35-year-old man from Barrie, was also charged with obstructing a police officer and is being held in custody.

Man arrested in overnight robbery

A man was arrested in an overnight robbery on Mar. 5, Barrie Police say, after officers responded to reports of a robbery on Collier Street just after 10 p.m.

Police responded to a 911 call involving a man who was believed to be armed with an edged weapon, police said in a news release.

The 33-year-old man from Barrie was arrested without incident and no weapon was located upon his release.

He was then transported to police headquarters and charged with robbery.
