This Week in Barrie: Week of November 3

Date:

Looking to get rid of your pumpkins?

Your new organics cart can help! There’s plenty of space for old pumpkins – just be sure to remove any candles or decorations. You can also include spoiled fruit and vegetables from your garden.

For a list of acceptable items, visit barrie.ca/OrganicsCollection.

It’s Battery Collection Week! (November 3-7)

To participate, place filled battery recycling bags ON TOP of either your garbage or organics cart on your regular curbside collection day next week. If no cart is set out, place bags on the ground at the curb. Bags must be clearly visible to the driver of the collection vehicle. Do not place bags inside carts or recycling containers.

Battery recycling bags are available for pickup until November 7. For the full list of pickup locations and program details, visit barrie.ca/BatteryCollectionWeek.

City commemorates Remembrance Day

The City of Barrie and the Royal Canadian Legion will join communities across Canada to
honour those who served and sacrificed for our freedom. At 11 a.m. on November 11, observe a moment of silence to remember all who have fallen. Veterans and one companion can ride Barrie Transit free on Remembrance Day with proof of service.

For more information, visit barrie.ca/RemembranceDay.
