Colts end pointless streak but still fall in SO to North Bay

Date:

Close but not quite there.

The Barrie Colts used a two-goal third period rally to push the North Bay Battalion to overtime on Sunday afternoon, ending a four-game pointless streak.

But after a goal-less extra session, the Colts were unable to keep pace in a shootout, dropping a 3-2 decision and going winless for the second consecutive weekend.

The Colts haven’t won since downing the Niagara Ice Dogs 6-5 on Oct. 5.

That’s not to say there aren’t any positives to pull from their recent games.

After falling 6-0 to Owen Sound on Wednesday, the Colts returned to the scoring sheet on Friday, dropping a 4-3 decision to the aforementioned Battalion.
