67s name Egert as new general manager

Date:

The Ottawa 67’s have a new general manager.

The team announced earlier this month that it had named Jan Egert to the post.

“Jan’s strategic leadership, talent evaluation, and player development experience, along with his commitment to excellence, make him the ideal choice to lead our team forward,” Adrian  Sciarra, president of the team, said in a statement.

“We are confident that under Jan’s guidance, the team will build on our strong foundation and enjoy future success.”

Egert was previously the team’s associate general manager and director of scouting.

He began his major junior career with the OHL’s Mississauga Steelheads, spending seven seasons (2011-17) with the team. During that span, he served as video coach, assistant general Manager, and director of scouting.

Egert joined the 67’s in 2017. He also has represented Switzerland internationally, including serving as a video coach for the men’s national team at the 2022 Winter Olympics in Beijing.
