Barrie tech firm Netgain named as one of Canada’s top growing companies

Date:

Barrie-based digital marketing firm Netgain is making big waves after being recognized by The Globe and Mail as one of Canada’s Top Growing Companies for 2025.

The recognition puts a spotlight on Netgain for its innovation, rapid expansion and leadership in AI-driven marketing technology.

It also marks a big milestone for the company, which has grown from a small web design agency into a larger organization focused on performance marketing, web development and artificial intelligence.

“It’s a huge honour and a real validation of years of hard work,” said Drew Dekker, owner and COO of Netgain.

“This recognition isn’t just about revenue growth – it’s about building a culture that constantly pushes boundaries. We’ve reinvented ourselves several times, and being recognized among Canada’s fastest-growing companies proves that our willingness to evolve and take risks is paying off.”

Dekker said he was both surprised and proud when the company received the news. “It honestly stopped me in my tracks,” he said.

“It’s one of those moments where you reflect on how far you’ve come — the hard work, the tough decisions and the times you bet on your people and your ideas. My first thought was to share it with the team because they’re the reason this happened.”

Dekker credited the company’s success to three key factors — focus, innovation and trust.

“We’ve doubled down on performance-driven marketing — delivering measurable ROI for our clients — and we’ve invested heavily in R&D,” he said.

“Projects like PAL (Predictive Advertising Logic) and Netgain AI are pushing the boundaries of how data and automation can transform marketing.”

Founded in 2008, Netgain recently moved into a new office space in downtown Barrie at 91 Dunlop St. E., a move Dekker said strengthens the company’s commitment to the city.

“Barrie has always been part of our DNA,” he said.

“We’ve proven that you don’t have to be in Toronto or Vancouver to build a nationally recognized company. Keeping our roots here allows us to give back to the community that helped us grow, while still operating on a national and international level.”

Looking ahead, Dekker said the digital marketing and web development landscape is entering a new era — one driven by artificial intelligence and ethical automation.

“AI is reshaping every part of marketing — from how campaigns are built to how audiences are targeted and measured,” he said.

“The agencies that succeed will be the ones that balance human creativity with data-driven insight. The next few years will be defined by precision, personalization and ethical AI. Our team plans to lead that evolution.”
