Barrie Police taking part in Polar Plunge

Date:

The Barrie Police is preparing to take the plunge.

The city’s police service announced that it’sĀ once again teaming up with Special Olympics Ontario to take part in the Polar Plunge, and is inviting to residents, businesses, and local organizations to “brave the cold for a good cause.”

Participants in the Polar Plunge will dive into the cold waters of Kempenfelt Bay on Feb. 22 in support of Special Olympics Ontario.

Those who aren’t plunging are still encouraged to show up and cheer on those dipping their toes into the water. Attendees are also encouraged to get creative, as prizes will be awarded for the most creative costumes worn during the event.

Registration for the event, hosted Centennial Beach, is now open online.

Those interested in participating or learning more about the event can register online.

Registration day of event starts at 10 a.m.
